Board Meeting Minutes
1. The meeting was called to order at 7:20
pm. The minutes from the January 28 meeting were approved.
2. Treasurers Report:
- As of Feb. 25 30 annual homeowner dues
remained unpaid.
- Virginia Power has credited MCS for an
overbilling mistake from a previous bill.
- The Board unanimously approved the
proposed 2003 budget.
3. Homeowner Comments:
- A homeowner noted that some shrubs at
the front entrance were obstructing the view of the signs
stone pillars. Grounds and Maintenance will investigate
the possibility of pruning the shrubs.
- Another homeowner expressed concern
about brush in the common area behind their property.
Grounds and Maintenance will investigate and report back
to the homeowner.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
1. Architectural Review
- The ARC approved 3 applications at its
Feb. 12 meeting...a new dwelling to be constructed at
1607 Stoney Creek Drive; a fence, and a shed.
- Another application that was revised
by the homeowner for a garage was approved on Feb. 23.
- The committee has started work on
revisions to the Architectural Review Guidelines.
- Don Berard has resigned from the ARC.
Marilyn Berard was unanimously approved by the Board as
the newest member of the ARC.
2.Grounds and Maintenance
- The Albemarle County Service Authority
is conducting sewer easement maintenance in MCS. You may
notice brush being cleared by ACSA in certain areas.
3. Social
- Further work on the walking trail is
needed. If interested please contact David Cooper. Work
will be scheduled for a weekend when the weather
improves.
- The pond trail head signs have
arrived. Members from the Board will be installing the
two signs in the near future.
4. Website www.avenue.org/mcsha/home.html
- The website received approximately 60
hits during February.
- Remember to sign up for the MCS
website mailing service.
- Check the Whats New page on the
website for a link to the Avon Street Extended sidewalk
survey. Your participation in the survey is encouraged.
OLD BUSINESS
- The votes are in. The MCS entrance
sign color was determined by the sign repainting
committee. The new color is called Cordwood...a warm,
brown earth tone color. Bids from painters are being
solicited.
NEW BUSINESS
- The MCS Annual Meeting will be held
Wednesday, March 12 at Monticello High School starting at
7:00pm. Notices are forthcoming to all homeowners. There
will be several Board vacancies. Please consider serving
your community by serving on the Board. Contact any Board
member for further information. THANK YOU
- Thanks to those of you who have
assisted with the preparation, editing and distribution
of our monthly minutes and other special notices to
homeowners. Thanks to: Marilyn Berard, Mary Alice Bond,
Pete Caramanis, Francis Ferki, Karen Ferrer, Joe
Greenberg, Lynn Horwitz, Kim McCormick and Elaine
Richardson.
TIPS AND REMINDERS *Please remember to come
to the Annual Meeting on Wednesday, March 12 at Monticello
HighSchool. ** Visit the MCS website often for the latest news
and information about our neighborhood. ***Please drive carefully
and slowly, maximum 25 mph, on our subdivision roads. ****Thanks
for continuing to use the dogipot stations. *****If you are

NEXT MEETING- Tuesday, March 25 at 7:15 pm
at David Coopers house, 1624 Stoney Creek Drive. All
homeowners are invited to attend.
